A BETTER WAY TO MANAGE RISK FOR

45 YEARS

We are strictly a Portfolio Management firm, and are not involved in financial planning, advisory or brokerage operations. We have over 45 years experience in managing portfolios using the same methodology, and almost 80 years between the two principals. The 7 SAM Portfolio have been engineered to target 7 separate and specific ranges of risk paired with their corresponding returns. The SAM Portfolios cover the vast majority of investment horizons for US retail and institutional investors investing in public securities.

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer 7 distinct portfolio strategies that have been developed and refined based on 5 decades of management experience.  At the same time, our overall basic methodology in reflecting our underlying philosophy has remained steadfast.  Our comprehensive set of portfolio strategies meet a variety of investor risk profiles and have been designed to meet reasonable expectations (returns), thus allowing for the stability of long-term planning.  Our reports on various research topics, portfolio strategy, and forecasts keep investors informed on a regular basis of our thinking in reflection of portfolio changes made.  Educational tools and various publications are also made available which we believe are helpful to clients in gaining an understanding of our style of management.

OUR SAM PORTFOLIOS ARE SEQUENTIALLY  DESIGNED

Each of the 7 SAM Portfolios have been designed and engineered to provide optimal returns at incremental levels of risk over various time periods.  Regular ongoing testing validates or causes us to make slight changes in the structure of each portfolio. The colored triangles shown above represent the risk/return boundaries wherein we search in developing portfolio structures to reflect our outlook.  This entire layout in known as our Field Structure (Fs), which is explained in more detail under the SAM Management section.  We believe this design and methodology makes it particularly helpful to our clients engaged in their own financial planning. For example, our investors can easily ascertain the answers to investment questions such as:

  1. how much of an investment is required in order to reach certain financial goals,

  2. the estimated time period required to meet specific financial goals, and

  3. the amount of future contributions required, if any, should the timeline for meeting their financial goals associated with particular levels of risk (comfort level of volatility) prove to be out of balance.

LONG ON EXPERIENCE IN PROVIDING CONSISTENT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT RESULTS

We provide institutional type portfolio management structured and priced for a wide variety of investors including retail investors not wanting or able to meet large-scale minimum balance requirements, and institutions not having access to this type of management.  The proof test of our conviction and the confidence we have in our own investment methodology is the fact that most of the personal wealth of the firm’s principals is invested in the SAM Portfolios.  All SAM Portfolios are executed simultaneously whenever changes are made thus eliminating any conflicts of interest. Our top priority is helping clients efficiently maximize their investments in both the short and long-run by precisely pairing risk and return.

RESEARCH, COMMUNICATION EDUCATION AND REPORTING

Research is the cornerstone of our portfolio management. Analyzing the economic climate in which the capital markets reside and determining the right securities that find their way into the SAM Portfolios is a continuous challenge. We cover 50 different countries and regions, 18 major industrial sectors and have over 150 securities under active analysis. The core methodology of the SAM Portfolios has been developed based on a fusion between classic fundamental analysis of the individual securities and the quantitative disciplines we have pioneered for decades.
